Exploring an ABANDONED Victorian Age School in the Deep South!
Located in the Southern US, in a town known most for its tobacco sales, is a vacant school house from Old America still standing to this day, barely. Back in 1880, the school was first constructed in Italianate Victorian architecture and held class for a total number of 300 children ages ranging from 6-21.
In later years, the school had some additions that included a gymnasium/auditorium and an additional wing of classrooms. This was added back in the 1930s.
By 1988, this Ohio River Schoolhouse was determined the oldest operating school in the state, but this unfortunately was the last year that students were able to learn within these walls.
As we explore what's left, we will realize the fragility of what remains as we investigate and explore gently, trying not to disturb the collapsing mess of this old American school.

Exploring the Forgotten City that America Abandoned - Cairo, Illinois
Переглядів 115 тис.21 день тому
Cairo has a complex history spanning over two centuries, beginning with indigenous peoples and French colonial era. Founded in 1818, it thrived as a trade and transportation hub during the steamboat era, playing a significant role in the Underground Railroad. However, the city experienced racial tensions, violence, and decline in the 20th century, including a 1909 race riot and economic downtur...
Exploring the Apocalyptic ABANDONED Pennsylvania Turnpike - 13 Miles of Decay

The closure of the Turnpike was decided when too many delays were happeni...

One of the most unique and confusing Abandoned mansions I've ever explored. Once owned and built by one the wealthiest Rabbi's in America, this mansion was built in the 1980s, with every brand new appliance of the decade included. The liminal concrete walls in the foyer make me feel alone and small while looking up at the 20 foot ceilings, with the 2 ornate light fixtures swaying above my head....
Found an Abandoned AMC Movie Theater from 1999!

Built in Retro style in 1999, the theater has hints of Hollywood all around the huge building. Equipt with 24 screens and an IMAX theater, the cinema was a huge attraction and a palace for film. Unfortunately, up until 2019, the building wasn't selling out as many seats, and theaters began to sit empty more frequently. It was 2020, and the Pandemic that was the final chapter of this location. C...
Exploring an Abandoned Crime Scene Mansion - Parents sent to Prison!

Built in Colonial Style in 1938, this mansion would soon be home to a dark secret. Firefighters were called to the home when an alarm was going off inside because of the lack of oxygen in the air. When crews arrived, they had to call the hazmat team to even go inside. What they found was haunting, over 115 accounts of animal abuse, and animals living in horrible conditions. The parents both wen...

Why would you title this video as being an untouched 50s home when it is clear that it was still in active use up until atleast the 1980s?

Thanks for making this video. I'm always looking out for abandoned places. I like the surrealism of feeling like I'm in a post-apocalyptic world. It's also great being able to get away from normal life and other people.

A lot of history that Republicans and pro-segregationist white nationalists refuse to learn from. So much death and loss because so many wanted to push segregation in our nation. This city could return, but it takes us wanting to legitimately bring back factories to the nation (as long as we continue supporting eco-friendly practices and building strong unions).

That can opener style was popular in the 1960's and 70's when I was growing up. No need for them now because of all the zip top cans. The cutting wheel was messy and hard to clean, too. A nice hand can opener is enough for the the few cans without zip tops. They're simple to clean, too. Great video. Thank you.

When I first saw the title of the video, I thought it was something related to the nuclear accident at The Miles Island-which I think is far from the location depicted on this video. This is a depressing landscape, especially when one thinks that this is in the US of A. Great work, though.

The Gladsteins were arrested in September 2010 for the animal cruelty/neglect. I’m seeing online that Emily was born in Sept. 1993 She was no small child when this animal abuse occurred. Also I find it strange that in those pics she’s not REALLY smiling. I wonder what her life was really like. Money and happiness don’t always go together.

This is incredibly sad. What a beautiful home and piece of property, absolute shame that it’s being demolished… wish somebody up-kept the home or bought it and restored it. This one truly upsets me 😬 if I was a multi millionaire I would’ve bought this house and restored it no matter the cost. Great video!

THe older you get the more recent 30 years ago becomes. To someone in their early 20s, born like late 90s early 00s, the 80s and 90s probably seem like forever ago, a time of nostalgic mystery before they were born where things see spectacularly different, but to me the 80s and especially the 90s seem quite similar to now except for internet and smart phones and some upgrades in how we consume media. It simply doesn't seem that long ago to me or that we have really come all that far. But if I, who was born in 1976, think about the 70s and the decades before then, I have a similar feeling like everything was much different in the early 70s, the 60s 50s 40s...

49:18 oh you don’t know! I didn’t know when I first got to southern Illinois. There is all kinds of similarities and lore surrounding southern Illinois and Egypt. So, lots of places are named after Egyptian things. All of Southern Illinois is called “Little Egypt” and Cairo is pronounced K-Row. There was a famous belly dancer from there (was her name “Little Egypt” too?). She was a hit with the fellas at the world’s fair in Chicago. There are so many things… Also a bit ago you visited the Magnolia manor. I visited there one time. It was open for a Christmas event on the day I went to town for an assignment (student at SIU). There were dogs roaming the streets and we were going to explore the GEM when this friendly guy came up to us. We had no idea what to do. Others were in town and told us to take him to the manor. The lady working there has rescued and helped so many stray dogs. The streets used to have pack of them. Now they’ve all been adopted. I imagine that’s why there were 4 dogs in the yard. Good to see she’s still helping the local animals.

There’s a nasty male spirit following you around this place. He talks A LOT and he has a deep, gravelly voice..very similar to (if not is) what I’ve known demonic entities to sound like. Yes, those are real. So are spirit guides/guardians. Both can be spirits that were once human, but turned that way after death, OR never were human. I heard something humming in the kitchen, briefly.. Which was still a deep male voice. but not in an unsettling way, like you’ll hear at 3:39…. he’s speaking (actually chanting in a different language) while you speak in this time stamp. He continues in a language I can’t understand at 3:43. You must listen VERY closely. There might be more than 1 entity. Which isn’t uncommon. Edit: I looked up what he said at 3:43 he said “catuvatu” which is ancient Hindu sanscrit for “buffoon, jester” basically calling you an ass. He’s insulting you. Knowing it’s ancient, it’s absolutely “not good”..to say the least. At 6:23 it begins chanting again, in his ancient language. It’s just a whisper in the air ..it goes on for a long time, too. Edit: a female enters while you’re in that very small bathroom saying it’s claustrophobic..she follows you from that point on and asks you to turn around at 9:22…she is not good, either. She’s definitely just as nasty a thing as the male. Yuck I hate her voice. It’s like Linda Blair whispering. Yuck! 9:42 she hides her voice in the sounds of your footsteps “out! Get. Out! Of here!” 10:51 she says it again, and again, hidden in the sound of your movements “get! Out. Of here!” 11:26 “shut.up” Oh ..wow. Ok. 11:35 This is a real hard listen, but if you loop it and listen to only what’s going on in the air..you’ll hear that Her/its voice starts off sounding non-human “you’re” then goes into the female human sounding voice and finishes with “dirr-tyyy” at 12:00 you’re literally being growled at. 12:35 you’re complimenting the house’s craftsmanship, saying it’s built to last and it responds with “give me a break!” 12:39 male demonic voice says “look at me..Im disgusting” As you’re heading up the steps, his voice is angrier than ever, telling you to get out of here. Now that’s interesting. I never heard one behave as if the house is apart of itself and that’s basically what it’s implying ..I wonder where they got the wood for this place. I’m so confused right now lol ..it’s not what’s in it, it’s what it’s made of. Fascinating. 13:20 “turn around” Who’s Preston? Anyway..this is getting a little too yuck so I’m gonna stop listening. But honestly..it’s all kinds out here. Not a single place is haunted, because they simply walk among us. In and out of places. They’re everywhere. Some might stay in one spot, some might not. Some don’t even know there’s others in the same space as them. It’s all different planes of existence sharing the same time. And you can hear them in nearly any recording because of this. They just hide what they’re saying and they do this quiet often to mask/hide their voices. They’ll speak when the living does, or when a sound is made..sometimes their voices even sound like static, or a clicking noise ..and you’ll only hear that it’s actually something speaking if you’re listening very closely. I don’t hear them this way without it being in a video. The way I hear them sounds more like they’re in the room with me. Like, it’ll be a whisper when it’s recorded, but I heard it as if it’s standing right next to me. I can only see what they look like when I switch planes in my sleep, this happens without my control. I don’t know when it’ll happen, either. It always starts with the loudest “bang” you can imagine, then I wake up (In reality, I’m still asleep) and see the spirit in the hallway, at the foot of my bed. They can’t speak to me until we go downstairs, into my basement. So they gesture to follow them, then they leave my house, run around the side, and re-enter through the back door at the landing of the basement steps. Once I’m down there, I don’t ever step off the stairs..I sit down on the 2nd or 3rd to the last one and look into their “other side”..whatever that may look like. Once they’re in their space, on their plane of existence, they can finally speak using their voice. It’s always an important message, too. My mom communicated with me this way a year after she passed, so I could save my father’s life. I would’ve lost him too if I didn’t have this gift. Anyway.. I don’t expect any of you to believe me lol it’s fine. I’m just saying.. I see & communicate with spirits, and can hear them in any recording. I watch these videos specifically to hear them speak and let the person who owns the channel know they weren’t alone in there. It’s just a weird hobby But yeh :) Person who goes into these places, it might interest you to listen to the “air” in your videos. Using earbuds or headphones on highest volume, you’ll see most of the places you think are abandoned, are in fact, not. Sage will not clear you of anything. It’s useless. It’s more of an emotional tool to use when meditating.. It doesn’t kick spirits, or worse out. You’ll need to see a priest if you suspect something’s affecting your life/followed you home. It may be more than 1 session, too. I’m going to listen a bit more now and I’ll edit with time stamps when/if I hear him speaking again. My advice is to make it clear before you enter these places that they are forbidden from leaving with you and they are to leave you alone while you’re there because you mean no harm. I’m not saying it’ll work, I’m saying it’s worth a shot. Good luck :)

2:38 Thorazine was used to turn a patient into a walking zombie. It's a very strong drug. I know. They used to shoot that drug into my body if I was simply refusing to listen, or just put out a cigarette when commanded to do so. They used it if a patient was "insolent" in the least little way. Mental hospitals were very cruel, and probably still are for all we honestly know. If they hid things back then, they surely hide their sick secrets nowadays, too.

Hi! I’m one of those weirdos who can communicate with spirits. Often, without my permission, because I can’t really control it.. Anyway. A new little hobby of mine is to watch these abandoned house videos and see if it’s really abandoned or not. You don’t have to believe me, that’s not what I’m asking of anyone .. What I’m going to do here is put time stamps when I hear spirit speaking. I already know a female is in this house and she’s not too thrilled with you being there… she’s not thrilled SHE’s there, either.. she’s just very unhappy :( I’ve just started the video at the part when you’re entering the house. I’m now going to edit with time stamps. Your best chance of hearing her is to wear earbuds/headphones on the highest volume and to listen carefully to the time stamp I’ve provided. You may need to loop it with your eyes closed, but her voice should eventually come forward for you :) Her voice will sound like whispers of air. Listen carefully. Enjoy! Edit; sooo she’s the type to hide her voice sometimes. They do this by speaking during sounds/when people speak.. at 4:12, when he moves a piece of wood she says, “I see you entering.” Right off the bat, she’s there, looking at him. 4:27 odds are, you won’t hear this one, she’s whispering very lightly. She said “I hope you aren’t staying here.” 4:40 she agrees and says “yeah” as he’s saying the floors are warping. 4:55 sounds like static, but it’s her saying, “k*ll him” - don’t know who.. 5:23 very, very quietly she whispers, “he k*lled me..hole” 😢 Before this, as he was saying this room was added, she agreed and said “yes” I’m not going to timestamp it. See if you can hear her yourself 😉 6:09 she’s done. She’s upset, she says “get out” I’m feeling uneasy now, so I’m going to stop. May God find and keep her soul. She deserves rest. I pray for her eternal peace 🙏🏼 Thanks for sharing this video

I was really hesitant to let myself listen to spirit in this video.. because I could literally feel the evil emanating from this house. It may not have started that way, but that’s how it ended up … I’m not going any further than this time stamp because of what I’ve heard so far. The only thing y’all should know and can probably hear if you wear earbuds/headphones on highest volume..and listen very carefully.. I've been a Pennsylvanian my entire life and I am very familiar with your location in this video. You filmed some great footage. I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing 😁
